    Objective

    To implement a Mitel VoIP phone system to replace their previous analog PBX in Tokyo.

    Solution

    Denphone assisted Australia based Ethan Group to install a two server Mitel based PBX system in the Robert Walters Tokyo office. Connections were made to the KVH Phone network via two PRI ports. 200 Mitel IP phones in two separate buildings were connected to the PBX Servers.

Case Study 13: NEC-SCHOTT

    Objective

    To implement an Ericsson VoIP phone system to replace their old analog PBX in Shiga prefecture.

    • 2x INS1500 PRI trunk connection to the Japan PSTN
    • 200 Ericsson IP phones for staff based in factory and office
    • 2 PRI port Voxstream J1-E1 gateway

    Solution

    Denphone assisted HP/Damovo/NPV in the installation of a two server (primary/hot standby) Ericsson based PBX system. Connections were made to the NTT Phone network via a PRI card. 200 Ericsson IP phones were connected to the MX-ONE Servers, and a Voxstream 2 port PRI gateway was used to connect to NTT INS1500 lines. Analog devices were also connected to the MX-ONE unit.

Case Study 12: United Nations University

    Objective

    To implement a VoIP capable phone system to replace their old expensive analog PBX in Tokyo.

    • INS1500 PRI trunk connection to the Japan PSTN
    • INS64 BRI ISDN backup connection to the Japan PSTN
    • 220 Cisco IP phones for staff based in Tokyo
    • 24 port Audiocode analog gateway

    Solution

    Denphone installed a three server load-balanced Asterisk based PBX system in the UNU Tokyo office. Connections were made to the NTT Phone network via a PRI card. 220 Cisco 7941 IP phones were connected to the Asterisk Servers, and an Audiocodes 24 port analog gateway was used to connect to six internal PBXs in other small offices in the building. Analog devices were also connected to the Audiocodes unit.

Case Study 11: Major Canadian PBX manufacturer

    Objective

    To connect an Asterisk system to a large data centre based phone switch.

    Solution

    Denphone analyzed the protocol differences between the Asterisk PRI implementation and the phone switch PRI implementation. The Asterisk driver was modified to resolve the mismatch and enable the two systems to route calls.

Case Study 9: European Cellphone manufacturer

    Objective

    To rollout a 150 phone managed VoIP PBX solution in Tokyo.

    Solution

    Denphone worked with the Asia project team, comprising both internal staff and external vendors, to install a redundant Asterisk based PBX system (with third party GUI) in the firm's Tokyo office. Connections were made to the PSTN via a third party INS1500 gateway.

    To implement a VoIP capable phone system to replace their old expensive analog PBX in Kyoto.

    Solution

    Denphone installed an Asterisk based PBX system in the firm's Kyoto office. Connections were made to the NTT Phone network via an ISDN BRI card. Polycom IP phones were connected to the Asterisk Server, and a combination of Digium IAXy devices and Polycom IP phones were configured for use in the remote locations.

    To implement a dialin voice gateway to their existing non-VoIP PBX in Tokyo. This enabled on-site engineers to reduce mobile phone charges for overseas calls.

    Denphone installed an Asterisk server in the firm's Tokyo office. Connections were made to the inhouse PBX system via a PRI card. A secure dialin menu system was developed to validate inbound callers, and provide them with outbound calling capability.

    Denphone installed an Asterisk server in the firm's Tokyo office. Connections were made to the NTT Phone network via an PRI card. Polycom IP phones were connected to the Asterisk Server. Customized voice prompts were recorded by a professional voice talent and used to direct inbound calls. The system is used by more than one company, a so-called multi-Tenant deployment.

    To implement a VoIP capable phone system to replace their old analog PBX in Tokyo which failed.

    Solution

    Denphone installed an Asterisk server in the Embassy's Roppongi Tokyo office. Connections were made to the NTT Phone network via an ISDN BRI card. Cisco IP phones were connected to the Asterisk Server. The system was up and running within a day or so of the old PBX failure.

Connections were also made to a VoIP provider using SIP protocol. Grandstream IP phones were connected to the Asterisk Server. A total of 40+ outbound voice channels were installed.
